Whey Forward Protein Pancakes
If you’re one of those people who can never seem to quite master the art of getting fluffy, thick, evenly cooked pancakes, then listen up. This foolproof recipe is super-easy even for the least confident pancake flippers out there. All you need is six ingredients and a good frying pan. It really is that simple.
This delicious recipe has one other special element: Whey Forward Isolate. A dairy-identical animal-free whey protein. How’s that possible? Well, through the wonders of fermentation, of course. Curious to find out more? We’ve answered all in this explainer.
Servings:  Serves 2
Ingredients
- 2 medium ripe bananas
- 2 free-range eggs
- 100 ml unsweetened soya milk
- 130 g oat flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 15 g Whey Forward Isolate
Instructions
First, mash the bananas to create a purée.
Crack in the eggs and add the milk, then mix until thoroughly combined.
Now, add the dry ingredients — oat flour, baking powder, and protein powder.
Mix until well combined in a smooth batter.
Heat a non-stick pan until really hot, then lower the heat and add 2 tablespoons of the batter to create a small pancake. Cook the first side for about 1 minute, then flip and cook for a further 30 seconds on the other side.
Repeat for the remaining batter until you have a stack of golden pancakes.
Serve with high-protein yoghurt (if you don’t have this you can make your own with a dollop of Greek yoghurt and half a scoop of protein powder mixed together) and your favourite fruit. Flippin’ delicious.
