Myprotein’s Strongest Man: Stoltmans Go Head To Head
A duo even more iconic than Clear Whey and water, gym bros and creatine, and split squats and tears, Luke and Tom Stoltman, the World’s Strongest Brothers, took on the Myprotein Head-to-Head challenge.
Reigning World’s Strongest Man, Tom, went up against older brother, Luke (currently Europe’s Strongest Man), to see who would take home the crown of Myprotein’s Strongest Man. Tensions were high, and the atmosphere was tense as the challenge began...
V-hold sit up
All was looking good for both brothers until the 11-second mark. But that’s when a few cracks started to show.
Nevertheless, they both powered through until Tom gave up at 35 seconds. They had just eaten lunch, so we’re impressed they both lasted that long on a full stomach.
Crucifix hold
With a first-round win under his belt, Luke was confident going into the dumbbell crucifix hold...
And rightly so, as Europe’s Strongest Man once more snatched the win from the World’s Strongest Man.
There's clearly strong sibling rivalry between these two... and Luke’s celebration proved it.
How many reps a minute
60kg on the bar. Tom was up first since he was losing, which his brother was keen not to let him forget. This also meant Luke, had more time to recover and maintain his smugness.
But Tom got a score that left Luke quaking in his socks. 74 reps — that’s more than one a second.
It's safe to say Tom’s score wiped the smile right off Luke’s face. In the end there was only five reps between them, leaving Tom the victor for this round.
Who can down a protein shake the fastest?
They're either incredibly large men, or these shakers are incredibly small. 300ml of water, two scoops of protein. The race for the winner was on.
With the outcome being too close to call, it all came down to who had less dregs at the bottom of their shaker. And since Tom failed to polish off his shake completely, he took the L once again.
Take Home Message
Congratulations, Luke Stoltman, winner of Myprotein’s Strongest Man — the title that really matters. While Tom appeared to be a gracious loser, we wouldn’t be surprised if the brothers spent their journey back to Scotland in complete silence. Unlucky Tom, better luck next time.
